Care instructions kitchen
Over the years, your kitchen will develop a unique patina – depending on the intensity of the cooking sessions or kitchen parties. This may also have something to do with tipsy guests and dancing feet on the worktop. But this is mainly due to the natural materials used, such as wood, steel and linoleum. This is because they will tell their very own story over time as a result of wear and tear. However, to prevent the story from becoming too dramatic, we advise you not to leave dirt on the surfaces for too long. And because you want your WERK modular kitchen to be just as impressive after many years as it was on the first day, give it a little attention every now and then in the form of surface care in addition to daily cleaning.
Worktop
Hot-rolled stainless steel
Less is more: the stainless steel surface develops an anti-fingerprint effect over time. This can only be formed if the surface is not chemically cleaned. For this reason, we generally advise against using stainless steel cleaners.
How to maintain
After daily cooking and working in the kitchen, the surface can be easily cleaned with a microfibre cloth and warm water in a rolling motion. If streaks form, also use glass cleaner. Stubborn stains can be removed with neutral detergent. Please wipe with clear water and a cloth. Dry the worktop with a cotton cloth after each cleaning.
Less is more: We generally advise against using stainless steel care products. This is because cleaning too intensively prevents the anti-fingerprint and beading effect typical of stainless steel from developing over time. Once this protective film has formed, you will be delighted with the stainless steel surface.
For light rust stains: The stainless steel plate cannot rust. However, when grill grates, steel pans and the like are cleaned in the kitchen, metal residues can form superficial rust stains. These can usually be removed with a commercially available eraser.
Product recommendation: glass cleaner, neutral cleaner, dirt eraser
Worktop
Ceramic cement tone or concrete grey
How to maintain
All you need for daily cleaning is a microfibre cloth and water. It is usually sufficient to remove dirt with the damp cloth, warm water and possibly a little glass cleaner.

Linoleum, all colours
As with almost all natural materials, linoleum develops an unmistakable patina over the years through use. To ensure that this is as even as possible, always clean the entire surface of the fronts.
How to maintain
It is usually sufficient to remove stains with a soft cloth, warm water and possibly diluted washing-up liquid. For more stubborn stains, simply use undiluted detergent. Then wipe with a damp cloth. We generally advise against using a linoleum care set. These usually contain oil and can leave shiny spots on the matt surface.
Take care: Please do not use solvent-based cleaning agents such as acetone, nail varnish remover or cleaning petrol. These destroy the surface. Hand and appliance disinfectants can also cause stains and discolouration due to their high solvent content.
Product recommendation: pH-neutral hand dishwashing detergent

Ash or oak
As with almost all natural materials, wood develops an unmistakable patina over the years as a result of use.
How to maintain
All you need for daily cleaning is a soft cloth and a pH-neutral hand dishwashing liquid. It is usually sufficient to remove the stains with the damp cloth and possibly diluted washing-up liquid. For more stubborn stains, simply use undiluted detergent. Then wipe with a damp cloth.
The kitchen fronts are sealed with an oil. Depending on wear and intensity of use, the recommended care product can be applied to the entire wooden front. A regularly maintained wooden surface retains its resilience.
Product recommendation: pH-neutral hand dishwashing detergent, Rubio Monocoat Refresh Eco
